More eco-ironing tips

Save energy as well as the effort! Remove clothes from the washing machine and hang dry them as soon as the wash cycle has finished to minimise creasing. Take your (hang) dried laundry with you into the bathroom while showering – often the steam smooth out creases and folds.

More recommendations and tips...

The maximum ironing temperature should be selected only on the basis of the care label and not according to the fibre content of a textile article.

However, some articles (e.g. with a bar below the washing tub) may not need to be ironed if they have been hung up immediately after spinning and reshaped whilst damp or if they are dried in the horizontal position.

Iron only if necessary, and iron at the appropriate temperature. You can avoid ceases, for example by using fabric conditioner, by removing items from the washing machine or dryer as soon as it stops, and/or drying it on a hanger.

Good to know

Ironing needs up to one fifth of the whole energy used for an average laundry process.

Fabric conditioner can be helpful in softening fabrics and making ironing easier, as well as providing laundry with a pleasant fragrance.

Use fabric conditioner only when necessary. Its use can have an impact on the environment.
